I have a small bowl and this fountain pump is small enough to fit in and generates the strong bubbling sound effect, I am very satisified with the result. Sometimes the pump with larger water volume creates louder pumping machinary noise than the bubble water sound itself. This little pump is quiet, the water bubbling sound is musical as it should be. The only 'improvement' I can think of will be the tight curly electrical cable, I used plenty of little rocks and pebbles to stablized the little pump to stay at the center of the bowl.

My pump on my small desk fountain stopped working. I have one of those fountains that is maybe 1/2 to 3/4 foot tall, roundish, has 2 layers stacked up in the middle, supported by plastic, with large rocks around the base and middle and top levels. Pump goes in the bottom middle and shoots to the underside of the top layer if that makes sense (i.e. the water doesn't shoot up and out of the fountain, it hits the top plastic then flows over the edges in a nice waterfall formation). Anyway this pump worked just fine for that purpose. I had to turn the level down a bit - it was a bit too powerful at first - there is a "volume" switch for about 3 or 4 different levels of how high it will pump. Also, it made quite a bit of noise at first, so I let it run for an hour or so and the noise cleared right up and now it runs quietly and smoothly. I do agree the cord is quite thick compared to the pump, so I used rocks to wedge it into place. So for my purposes, I have a working fountain again.

I have a litlle fountain at home and i had to replace the old fountain pump. This Sunterra 104506 table top Fountain pump works very good inside under water, it doesn't have any noise. You only hear the water running. it is on 24 hours/day.

Well first off the pump in picture is NOT the pump you get. There is no dial to set flow. There is a switch that controls flow but the pump looks nothing like this picture they have on site.

Pump changes flow good, it did make some noise at first. Loud at times but then seemed to settle down and was basically totally silent. If it stays that way it will be perfect for bowl fountain.

However the one major pain not of the product so much, the shipping was the slowest worst thing I've ever had online shopping. It took 10 days to get it, when it shipped from one state away. Should've been here in 3 days MAX. Heck it might've ended up being more than 10 days. It was insane. Free shipping sure, but they have a turtle deliver it.

This little pump is exactly what I needed for my table top fountain. It is small enough to fit in the bottom piece and strong enough to form a steady, continuous flow of water. It arrived within days, and was very easy to install.

Very timely shipment, only took a few day.. Very easy to install, great price. A whole lot less expensive than purchasing a new water fountain. I bought 5 so when my other features motors go out I already have them to just replace. The only draw back is if you feature has BUILT IN light, but then you can work around this too.

A very good pump. Quiet, reliable, and efficient. The flow settings actually work, unlike some other models I've used (where flow settings were "Max Flow" or "Slightly-less-than-max Flow."); however, the flow was still slightly limited in that, though it had 5 notches, there were only 3 noticeable settings (Max, medium, and trickle). All in all, I was very satisfied with this product and would recommend it for anyone who is looking to build a small tabletop ambiance fountain.

15.) Still going, but makes noise

This is a nice little small 120 volt pump that was real quiet for the first three months. However, now it still works, but has started making a odd buzzing noise. This is not a problem for me, but now the pump noise is starting to overcome the falling water sound. As stated by others here, the power cord seems way too big for such a small pump. Guess I will just see how long it lasts. The pump does pump a lot of water for its size, so that is a plus and the flow adjustment works well. Not sure I would buy another one.

Serving as a replacement for a table top Xmas fountain. A little noisy but because of the sm difference in height it is not solid in the fountain. Will fix this next season. Better flow than the original at the lowest setting, yet not too fast. Will definitely purchase another for other fountains on the deck.

This fountain pump functions just fine, but the water flow is not very lively. It is possible that I should have ordered a larger fountain pump, to move more water more rapidly. Maybe this product should be labeled as being only for very very small fountains. For a medium to large size fountain such as I have, especially if you are hoping to clearly hear the water bubbling in the fountain, it is just not powerful enough to really move enough water for this effect. Just doesn't work well enough for me...

First, this pump is a very strong little pump, stronger than the 30gpm pump I was replacing. However, it's not the same pump as the picture. I needed the lower profile pump and the one I was sent is tall, rather that flat and wide. It's also very noisy. I hear way more pump than I hear burbling water, even with adjusting the flow. As other reviewers said, the cord is very bulky for such a small device. I will keep it as a backup pump, but I'm back to searching for one that is mostly silent.

I bought this as a replacement pump. It does the job, however, it makes too much noise to use indoors. My fountain is used in a meditaton setup and the noise of the pump overshadows any water sound. I reduced the pumping level to see if it would affect the noise level, but no luck. Unless you plan on using it outdoors or in a commercial noisy environment, you may want to look at other options. However, I don't see pumps advertised with noise levels.

Also, the heavy duty electrical cord has two issues: 1 - it is very thick which makes it very difficult too keep the pump in place or any specific orientation. 2 - it comes packaged curled up like a snake... and because it is so heavy duty and thick, keeping it uncurled is almost impossible. If it wasn't for the noise factor, I would stretch it out in the sun for a week too see if it would become straight. But for me, it is totally unuseable because of the noise it produces. Big disappointment (thankfully, it wasn't too expensive, but a loss nonetheless).

the pump is ok,,,but the cord that comes with it is bigger then the pump. so unless you can lock the cord down some how,,you will have a problem, it will drag the pump sideways, etc

Purchased this pump for $14.99 on July 15, 2007. I have a small water feature. The pump barely trickles.

Guess I will have to order another pump...but I would like to find out why the price change first.
